It is with great pleasure and much appreciation that we can announce Commander (retired) David Harding (yes, Swellendam's own Dave Harding) will give a talk on his experiences, when he was involved with the pilot training of Prince Charles , during the time David and the Prince of Wales Charles Windsor, now, King Charles lll of The United Kingdom, were Lieutenants in the Royal Navy. We don't believe personal experience can be more personal than sharing a tent with the then young Prince Charles!!
Your committee believes this will be a very interesting take on the life of a Royal in the ordinary man's world in the Navy.
Dave Harding joined the Royal Navy in the Coronation year (1953) serving as an Aeronautical Engineer in the Fleet Air Arm maintaining and operating many different aircraft types at sea and onshore around the world until 1980.
We hope you will support this talk by attending, even if British Royalty may be somewhat removed from The Republic of South Africa.
