SHA visit to Genadendal Mission Station, the oldest mission station in South Africa.

On behalf of your committee, we wish you a wonderful 2025.

The proposed Itinerary is as follows:

Thursday 23rd January 2025

07h45 meet in the Drostdy Restaurant parking lot, where we will collect the fee for the tour (R140 pp) and organise who will travel with whom.

08h00 Drive to Riviersonderend on the N2 and then onto the R406 (a dirt road in reasonable condition) through Greyton village to Genadendal

10h00 Arrive at Genadendal and have tea/coffee and muffins included in the tour price.

10h30 Tour with a tour guide through the historical "werf" of the mission station and the museum building.

12h00 + ‒ Drive back to Greyton for lunch at Fiore Restaurant which is situated within a lovely cool outdoor area in a plant nursery.

12h30 Have lunch (for your account). Menu attached (order at the restaurant).

Drive home as and when you wish either on the R406 or the long road back on tar via the N2

Please RSVP to me at p.bromley05@gmail.com by Monday evening 20th January. We need to advise numbers for the tour and the tea and muffins.  (We are obliged to pay the tour fee for the number of persons attending and that needs to be confirmed before time for obvious reasons).

Apologies to those who are working on Thursday the 23rd and are therefore unable to attend. We were advised not to choose a weekend for a visit owing to the large number of visitors over a weekend.

Here's hoping you will join us for this interesting
