Good morning dear heritage friend.

I trust this email finds you and yours well.

We are pleased to announce, our speaker for this month is Lauren Jacobs B.A. (Hons), M.Div. who is a professional author, journalist and radio host on 729 AM. As radio host Lauren is a professional presenter and can tell a good story or ten.

Lauren's talk for SHA is titled "Women in the Dark Hole and Other Stories." In this instance the dark hole refers to Swellendam's Gaol. As the title states, Lauren will also relate one or two more stories on other nteresting topics which she has come across while trawling through the archives.

We are most grateful to Lauren who is coming from Cape Town to Swellendam on Thursday evening the 18th of August especially just to address us in the Drostdy Schuur.

We trust members and visitors, who are most welcome, will come and support Lauren and your association with what promises to be a really entertaining evening with the usual socialising afterwards
